Course Description

The delegate will acquire the knowledge and develop the skills needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures and anaphylaxis.

A combined approach to the standard City and Guilds First Aid at work course to for fill the Employee, Employer duty of care this is the minimum HSE standard course, Pilgrims has added additional elements to cover individual safety and security and practical application of scenario based learning to add a realistic memorable learning experience for delegates. Basic trauma care and automated defibrillator application are also included in within this course.

Course Objectives

To understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider, be able to assess an incident and manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally and a casualty with external bleeding.

Suitable For

A nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have specific responsibilities at work to provide first aid in a range of emergency situations. Ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Course Requirements

Delegates must be at least 16 years of age on the first day of the training.
