Delegates will develop the skills and acquire the knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including managing an unresponsive infant/child, CPR, choking, anaphylaxis, seizures, wounds and bleeding.Course Objectives
The delegate wlll understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess an emergency situation safely.
He/she will be able to provide first aid for an infant/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally and administer first aid for an infant/child who is unresponsive and not. He/she will be able to provide first aid for an infant/child who has a foreign body airway obstruction or has external bleeding and understand how to provide first aid for an infant in shock i.e. anaphylaxis.Suitable For
Parents or family members who want to acquire key paediatric first aid skills. Those working with children who are not required to comply with Ofsted’s Childcare Register or EYFS requirements.Course Requirements
Delegates must be at least 14 years of age on the first day of training.
