Course Overview

This course provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to administer emergency first aid in smaller, low risk working environments. It will equip your nominated first aider with the confidence and competence to fulfil their duties. As an employer, you can be sure that you are meeting your legal requirement to provide quality first aid training.

Aimed at

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

Assessment

Assessment will take the form of continuous observation.

Certification

Successful candidates receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. All successful candidates get their first annual refresher training free.

The content of this course provides basic life-saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

  • The role of the first aider
  • Fainting
  • Managing an emergency
  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Resuscitation (adult CPR)
  • Bleeding (minor and severe)
  • Seizures (adult)
  • Burns
  • Shock
  • Choking (adult)
  • Unresponsive casualty
